Matt Hayes is the Founder and Executive Director of SoMD Loves You, a nonprofit with a mission to provide PPE to combat COVID. Matt Hayes is recognized for his entrepreneurship and invention of the first heat sanitation module in the world. He has a background in Aircraft, Energy, and Testing. He has worked as a designer and experimenter of engines for 15 years with experience in unmanned aircraft, power generation, national energy improvements, and test facilities. His experience building environmental testing systems is directly related to the development of the Hot Box. He has been involved in the development of the Insitu ScanEagle, RQ-21a Integrator, Boeing Dominator, Lockheed Martin Fury, and many others. His current company is Unmanned Propulsion Development, which he moved back to Southern Maryland to start. When not working he is often flyfishing, paddling, or making beer.
